"If Wiley want to control the market for their product, they
should have some rights so to do."
And they do. They have contracts with distributors that give
them their rights. These rights typically end at the black
hole event horizon on the retail counter. This termination
of their rights is such a long standing and universally
understood custom that is has been given the title First
Sale.
"But twisting Copyright isn't the right way."
Right.
"In my country there is a limit to the amount of personal
imports. Exceed that and you are deemed an importer, thus
subject to different tax regimes."
Fine. Taxes are not copyrights. Tax regimes are not set by
the copyright holder. Wiley and many others want to create
private extensions to copyright laws. Violating their rules
is not a contract issue, it is promoted into a state funded,
state prosecuteable, copyright law violation.
