US pressure!
There are some US criminals that ought to be extradited and serve their sentence
in the country where the crime was perpetrated.

This case does not demonstrate that it has gone away.

I did some searching and found this document.

which covers valid reasons for refusing extridition under the UN model treaty on
extridition.

According to the document, historically it is primarily civil law countries that
have followed this rule.

This does not come into play between the US and UK because they are both common
law countries.
