I agree with your interpretation (and particularly that it represents the view
given by the Federal Circuit).
It also raises the question of what constitutes a "difference" in
heuristic modules. If I invoke similarly-coded modules with different seed
values, are these two modules still to be considered identical? If the answer is
"no" then it would seem nearly impossible to infringe upon the patent.
If "yes", then what constitutes an actual difference is never defined
by the patent.

Module A uses a certain heuristic - OK
Module B uses a certain other heuristic - OK
Modules A & B working together or running back to back - NOT
Does this pass a minimum of common sense when it comes to
