There are a lot of uses of the word heuristic but
that wiki one is
misleading as here is is more likely to
related to heuristic algorithm. I am
sure someone in
computer sciences can provide the correct definition.
Here I
think this is more about providing a fast but
repeatable approach that takes
shortcuts and may not
always provide the exact result. Here exact result
is the
correct answer (might not be answer the user wants)
with the
correctly computed measure of
accuracy. For example, not evaluating all options
would make
an algorithm heuristic even if those unevaluated options
were
