I learned, many years ago, to select "newest first" and "flat" from the comment
divider bar, just below the article text, when I'm refreshing comments from
older articles. The divider bar shows up at the top of my browser window when I
click the article's item in the "COMMENTS last 48 hrs" list in the "What's New"
section. I then read until I recognize something I've already seen. Easy, to
the point of triviality. In the larger context, I start at the top of the
"COMMENTS last 48 hrs" list, and work my way down it until the first comment is
one I've seen before.
I also learned, when reading a new article, to select
"oldest first" and "nested" and refresh, to read all the comments in
context.
When I'm reading new comments in an old article, the # link gives me
the comment with a "parent" link, should I need to see its
context. --- --Bill. NAL: question the answers, especially mine. [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
