Nested mode is what you need.

If you have an account you get to set the mode that you want.

Or you can select it manually and refresh.

While we are at it you could turn on allow_reply_notifications

0 Allow (1) or disallow (0) subscribing to comment notifications.

Registered users can get an email notifying them of direct replies to comments
they left.

it's hard to find new comments

when a comments section gets to be several hundred messages
(like this one is), finding the 50 new messages between this
morning and now is impractical
