There's another side to this. I have worked for two companies, one being IBM,
that actively tried to get women into tech roles. A big problem was finding
women who were interested.

As long as men are equally protected against women. I have met more than a few,
during my field service years, that have badly abused their position as women
and hidden behind it.

As a hirer I work hard to approach gender balance on my crews. But the
applicants are just not available to achieve this goal, or even approach it.
