Well, the simple solution is to turn off the restrictions in your BIOS.
Unless you're using a Microsoft-certified ARM processor, in which case I have to

I don't know about equipment that is *designed* to be used as servers, but as
for consumer grade equipment, good luck finding computers with serial ports.
Even five years ago they had pretty much vanished.
On a computer I purchased nearly 6 years ago, the kernel says it sees a 16550A
but it does not come out to an external connector. I have a vague recollection
that I looked into the situation and concluded that there was probably a
connector on the MB that could be used for hooking up an appropriate connector.
