My first reaction on reading Wol's post was wondering if it related to
close-the-ranks sexism we used to experience in the Air Force (in the mid to
late '70s, and of which I was the beneficiary on several occasions).
I do tend to confuse the cases as PJ pointed out, but I don't think it
invalidates the comment, nor did she apparently attempt to do so.
Instead of sexism the comment can be seen to support the supposition that the
parties and court being shared between the two cases can lead to the same bias
being introduced, the savings grace for my comment.
PJ would likely as my wife does profess no need for aid in defense against
sexism. It wouldn't the first time I've confused the two cases to her
knowledge. I didn't take her comment as a banderilla, honest. And I took a
typing class in 7th grade in 1966, it served me well in keypunching batch jobs
for programming courses at university (You had ones and zeros? All we had...).
