Google is your friend, sometimes...Motorola was found not to have
infringed Microsoft's patent that covers the ability
for applications to work
on multiple handsets.
Inquirer
The
lawsuit concerned a radio interface patent, which makes the use of many
applications easier for
consumers. Microsoft can appeal the decision, but
wouldn't comment if it will.
WSJ
This decision does not impact multiple
injunctions Microsoft has already been awarded and has
enforced against
Motorola products in Germany. It remains that Motorola is broadly infringing
Microsoft's intellectual
property, and we hope it will join the vast majority
of Android device makers by licensing Microsoft's patents.
