Wait, are you implying that legal folks don't use "legal" size paper?
So how did it get that name, then?

I, too, think you actually meant "legal" and not "letter".
I've seen too many legal papers to think otherwise. (The text on these pages is
generally double-spaced, so you get less on a page than single-spaced on a
letter-sized page.)
By the way, for those who don't know or are confused by this terminology, these
terms are defined as follows:
First, we here in the US still measure paper size in inches, not mm or cm.
Letter-sized paper is 8.5 inches by 11 inches.
Legal-sized paper is 8.5 inches by 14 inches.
