Like global warming, and many other issues, the facts are generally not as
straightforward as they seem, with lies, disinformation, or innocent mistakes on
both sides. The truth, which we generally have no means of knowing, does not
even necessarily lie in the middle of what opposing factions claim. For
instance, we know that there are undesirable effects due to global warming, but
they are likely to be very different (and possibly much worse) than what certain
predictions are saying. All we can know is that it is safest to eliminate the
causes of the warming, which is what we should all try to do. Similarly for
MMR, there may well be serious effects, which may only show many years hence,
and may have no connection with autism. I am against MMR, simply because it is
not at all necessary to give the immune system multiple doses of very different
things to contend with at once, and it cannot be less safe to administer
conventional vaccines seperately. [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
