The difference between Apple and Samsung, from my perspective, is that Apple is getting worse over time and Samsung seems to be making substantial progress towards being a less bad corporate citizen.

Samsung is opening a plant in Texas to reduce shipping costs by shipping things not fully assembled and then finish the assembly in the United States. Apple has no intention of ever again using first world labor for manufacturing if they can.

Samsung has a horrid history, but they seem to be moving in the correct direction, as opposed to Apple that "solved" the problem with their power cords failing by calling them disposable.
