Impractical, no. Expensive and time consuming, yes. The parties will fight
harder and be better prepared.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
I'm sure the lawyers are happy to continue getting paid for their work.
I am not sure if this is thermonuclear yet. Apple needs to decide what is best
for it's image. For now, they are still popular so serious consideration of
this issue is out.
Given the various problems with iphone 5, I think Tim Cook is an idiot.
Certainly not a Steve Jobs. Public apology for the maps flop, official
statements declaring photos with purple smudges as "normal". Come on!
What happened to that "uncompromising design and quality" value Apple
had? It died with Steve as far as I can see.
So clearly Mr Cook thinks, or ought to think, that he needs to prove himself.
This patent war was a legacy his predecessor and Mr Cook certainly wants to
continue (or at least appear to continue) in the footsteps of success. My
prediction: No settlements, he wants some sort of victory, even a Pyrrhic
victory (just unlike the one they have now). See first sentence.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Apple will never settle, because in a nuclear war, you don't
settle. You play for all the marbles and you either win big
or lose big.
Settlement would - among other things - be a loss of face for
Apple. That would be a stain on the Apple legend.
It will never happen.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Sansungs case against Apple will probably come before the retrial now.
Perhaps leaving apple to squirm in the wind for a while.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Jobs was an Ellisonian; 'settlement' isn't his vocabulary.
Are there any pragmatic leaders left? Does one have to be a jerk in order to be
successful? Do philosophical ruminations have a place in this world?[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
