I think the worst likely penalty is: he will be frowned upon, and if in court he
will get chewed out.

I don't think the US has specified sentences for contempt of court, normally in
a civil action you get punished until you cure the contempt, clearly this juror
cannot clear his contempt, but perjury carries a jail term and/or a fine, in the
UK perjury that's aimed at getting you off a conviction or at getting someone
else's court case decided wrongly will likely get you sitting twiddling your
thumbs for about 2-4 years (ask Jeffrey Archer), and if you are trying to
misappropriate 1.7 billion dollars I can't think the court would go for the
light option!

Look at the guy. He went to court rather than admit a contract he signed said
what it meant. He's got a patent on technology that is not novel. He reportedly
introduced evidence about how the patent system works after explicitly swearing
not only that that he wouldn't, but that he would disregard it even in his own
reasoning. He's still telling stories that do not agree with the official
record.
This is a (mild) version of the Right Man. Do not argue with him for he is
Right. Where the universe disagrees, that's the universe's problem.
The only ways to shut him up would be duct-tape or a warning from his lawyer,
and I'm not sure about the latter.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
