MS to release own WP8 handset...
Authored by: hAckz0r on Wednesday, October 03 2012 @ 03:40 PM EDT
Nokia had to know it was coming. Shake hands with Microsoft and you had better count your fingers. Same old story, and they never learn.

What I want to know is how Microsoft is going to screw over Samasung, since they are also supposedly coming out with a Windoze phone. Microsoft is never nice to its competitors, even when they are using Microsoft products. It seems to me that Microsoft will likely make more money of of each phone they sell than the mere license fee collected from Samsung, so the bets are on for how Microsoft gives Samsung the shaft. Will it be patents? Cancelling their license agreement for some inconsequential contract squabble? Time to get out the popcorn for the next, boring and fairly predictable, MS saga as it unfolds.

Microsoft WP8 Surface phone
Authored by: Ian Al on Thursday, October 04 2012 @ 03:49 AM EDT
I hear it will have a built-in prop to hold it up at an angle on the desk. The
'phone cover will double up as the dial pad.

As with the Surface touchpad, it will only be convenient to use when sitting at
a desk.

Did I say 'convenient'? Scrub that! I forgot it was a Win 8 device.

Software Patents: It's the disclosed functions in the patent, stupid!
