Groklaw has taught us . . .

I think something has to happen to him. No matter how he tries to spin it, he failed to answer the question put to him under oath (at least, every time I've been a jury candidate the judge has reminded us we're answering questions under oath) with a true and complete answer. As you said, the system depends on people being truthful. I don't see how the system can work if you can get away with lying without any sort of penalty. Either the penalty for lying has to be enforced and be harsh enough to make it clear people can't afford it, or the system has to start assuming people will lie when it serves their purposes and take steps to spot those lies.

Attaint?
Authored by: Anonymous on Wednesday, October 03 2012 @ 04:27 PM EDT
Can't one be charged with attaint, or doesn't that apply here? Not that I
really expect charges, but I have to wonder. After all, he caused them to waste
a LOT of money on a goofed up trial. One might think he'd be on the hook for
something here.
