If Samsung' lawyers knew Hogan was lying or failed to mention the suit,...

One of the lawyers in the firm Samsung used is married to a lawyer who knew,
this is not quite the same thing as knowing, it probably only came up in a
conversation at home after Hogan started shouting his mouth off.

Possibly because the lawyer didn't discuss details of the case with his wife, and she didn't realize who the jury foreman was until he hit the news after the trial. At which point she mentioned it to her husband, along the lines of "Dear, that's the guy I had to sue way back when. Why was he on this jury?".

Of course they would have mentioned it earlier ... if they had known earlier.

Or they'd have not mentioned it--just used one of their peremptory challenges to
throw the bigot out with the bilgewater.

The Apple Conspiracy Theory seems to be something like this: Quinn calls all his
partners, staff, and the plant watering lady together. "Hey," he says,
"here are the names of all 50 potential jurors. All of you go home and ask
your spouses, children, and pets whether or not they have any good blackmail
material on any of the jurors."

The cleaning lady's favorite african violet happens to know that juror #15 is a
compulsive petal-picker....and so on. And Quinn stashes all the dirt where it
can be saved until it can do the most good.

The alternative theory, that Quinn's associate didn't ever mention the names of
any potential jurors to ANYONE outside the firm, and therefore the spouse had no
idea his old enemy was on the jury ... doesn't seem to have been considered.
Presumably the Boies boyz have their own experience predisposing them to think
in terms of certain scenarios.

Which says more about the Boies boyz than the Quinners.
