Anyone else remember the compressible compression that got a bunch of venture
capital a few years back? It was great, you could just compress files again and
again and each time they would get smaller.
I remember a magazine review of the technology that said something like,
"Information theorists have a lot to explain."
Soon after getting the funding, all the principles of the company vanished.
InTeleMax sounds like the next generation of that to me. Or it could just be
like certain stores. In order to get the 95% compression, start with a file
format that is 95% padding. Then it's easy to compress.
I think I'll patent a method to achieve high compression rates by inflating file
sizes before compressing them. Then I'll start a company called A Fool and His
Money. Anyone want to invest in this great technology?[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

The fear of failure does no favor to courage but I stepped out in faith and
went on-line to the County of Santa Clara court records. And what a treasure!
It's Thomas Vs
Intelemax.
They're all there, Velvin, Intelemax, Multicast, Meyers.
It almost restores my faith in humanity. Does anyone want to peek in the file
to see if everything is no the up and up?
