Have you tried starting Gnome Classic instead of Unity?
I have linux in various version for many years, but I have still to run in to
something that is not possible to configure. It not always possible to do it
trough the GUI though. The Ubuntu forums says it is possible to switch it of.
I have a Ubuntu 12.04 installed in a virtual machine, but I haven't install
Unity, so I have to do that and experiment a bit. It can't really be hard-coded.
The Ubuntu forums says it is possible to switch it off.
I didn't really like the way Ubuntu went with 12.04 so I am sticking to 10.04 on
mine not virtual installs.
When I need to upgrade I think I will go to where Ubuntu derived from i.e.
Debian Testing. That I have tried out and it works perfectly well.
Let's see what happens.
