Yes, this is all so silly. If they don't
care about being partners with Google, they
can do whatever they want, as Amazon has
done. If they want special perks, they
have to abide by the terms of that special
relationship. Mind you, none of us know
what the real story is yet, because only
a third party, with apparently some links
to Yahoo, a MS partner who is on a tear
against Google in the press, along with
its running dogs, has said anything. It's
in my view a bit irresponsible of the media
to print such an uncheckable story the way
they are, but if they don't do editorial
function as they should, you and I can be
our own editors, and say, "Hmm. There have
been a lot of stories about Google in the
press that turned out not to be true. Is
there a reason I should believe this single-
sourced, quasi anonymous story or should I
wait and see what happens next, if anything?"
