And agreeing that if an App wants to phone home, it has to CONVINCE me
or my Grandmother first!

That is the goal of a total OS redesign from the standpoint of trusting NO
program!

To respond to the claim of illusion

I didn't say those factors existed in Android - although it could certainly have been deduced from what was said.

However, the likelyhood of Android eventually providing for both of those is much, much higher then Apple or Microsoft providing for them.

If I thought there was a higher chance the Android platform would be more like the Apple/Microsoft platforms with regards user-control over software (compared with providing open source capabilities), I'd never have purchased a smartphone in the first place and would still be using my 10 year old Nokia dumb phone.
