Amazon Kindle Fire HD
Authored by: kenryan on Monday, September 10 2012 @ 06:58 AM EDT
I think that only applies to unsolicited advertising. So
long as you're told upfront about the Fire having
advertising, then you've opted in by buying it.

When I was shopping for an ebook reader for my daughter I
was looking at the Kindle first. The salesperson at Best
Buy however was making sure customers knew the version of
Kindles they sold were subsidized by advertising. I
appreciated that, because it changed my mind to buy a nook
from him instead.

Barnes & Noble Nook with Windows 8?
Authored by: DannyB on Monday, September 10 2012 @ 10:10 AM EDT
Forget an Amazon Kindle running Android. How about the wonderful goodness of Windows 8 running on a Barnes & Noble Nook?

http://phandroid.com/2012/09/08/should-barnes-noble-le ave-android-to-make-a-windows-8-nook-tablet/

Nothing for sure yet. But could it happen? If it did happen, why would B&N suddenly start using Windows 8?
