bugstomper: are comment threads being deleted?
Authored by: qubit on Monday, September 10 2012 @ 03:52 PM EDT
Thank you. But everyone seems to enjoy setting up the threads. So for now, let's leave it.
Hmm... I wouldn't have guessed that so many people enjoy setting up those threads so much! (And even if some users derived a small bit of pleasure from the action, I just figured that side-stepping the underlying bug in GeekLog, avoiding "disappearing" comments, and lightening the load on the volunteers who run the site would outweigh that). But as you say, it's your site and your rules.
If you want to code up some stuff, feel free, though, and donate it to Geeklog.

Oh, thanks for the suggestion, but my whole motivation for the hack was to help out Groklaw, not GeekLog upstream. I enjoy a lot of the articles and newspicks featured on the site, and I was just tossing out an offer to help in-kind.

Anyhow, keep up the good work on the site. I'll keep on coming back, and I'll try to remember to steer clear of posting to those anonymous-user-posted threads :-)

Cheers,
--Q
