Which thread made it clear? I noticed that someone suggested the same "fix" again (or was that comment just copied-over piecemeal?) in this Corrections thread, which necessitated another (new) comment explaining why the pluperfect might be desirable. The "see above" follow-up comment was confusing to me, because I didn't see any further explanation from PJ or others on the page. Of course, that just might be a side effect of the Threaded view I was using to read the site (see below (no, really! :) re: different content in different views).

What I have noticed in the past is that often an empty Anonymous canonical thread will be made to go away after the proper canonical thread is posted;
Hmm... so it appears that the old thread is gone from the Threaded and Nested views, however from the Flat view the missing comments are visible. I wonder if that's an intentional design in GeekLog or if it's just an implementation quirk.
