I have considered that. Then we see him going on putting his foot ever
deeper into his mouth. Evidence that Apple has kept it's distance from
him. Contrary evidence would be him issuing retractions and then
saying all the "right" things.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Apple are smart enough to stay well clear of any interference with the jury
foreman.
He tried to help out the side he felt connected to. His bad. [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

IANAL, but I recall reading a news incident that touched on that
point.
The situation was:
A Jury Member went to a local bar shortly
after the verdict and initiated conversation with a Lawyer (the Juror didn't
know the listener was a Lawyer).
The Lawyer was not a member of any
party to the trial.
The Juror mentioned something along the lines "the
defendant didn't have a chance with me on the Jury" - basically the Juror
indicated going into the trial with a preset bias.
The Lawyer brought
the situation to the attention of the Judge of the case.
The Judge
found for a mistrial I think.
Anyway the situation gave me the impression
it's a very strong no-no for either sides Lawyers to be speaking with any Jury
members.
If I have all that correct:
I imagine Apple's Lawyers
were wishing they could get him to shut up knowing if they said anything to him
it'd likely increase the odds of a mistrial occurring.
Wish I could pull
up that incident so I can provide a link... but my Google searching on this
particular item appears to be getting nothing but white noise.

And, there are plenty of ways Velvin Hogan could figure out he is not helping
his cause...he can read all the Groklaw he wants, now that the trial is over!
I think Hogan is too busy being famous to listen...and the people around him are
too busy exploiting that to let him know about the damage he is doing to his
verdict....remember, he's not surrounded by Apple Fanbois, he's surrounded by
media hacks, and blood in the water is their lifeblood!
Poor Apple attorneys...they must be cringeing every time he opens his mouth in
public...wonder if Apple and Samsung will STIPULATE a mis-trial, since Hogan is
a one-man destroy Apple's reputation campaign? (Think Jar-Jar Binks of one of
the stupider Star Wars Movies...I didn't know he was real!)
