EU says Microsoft pledged to meet antitrust requests on browsers
Authored by: Anonymous on Saturday, September 08 2012 @ 06:57 PM EDT
If they are really talking about MSWindowsRT (and not just the previous browser
choice issue), I wonder if they will ever get around to talking about the APIs
available to MSOffice vs other competing applications on MSWindowsRT (of all
kinds).

Nokia apology: Elop, Darl separated at birth?
Authored by: Anonymous on Saturday, September 08 2012 @ 09:10 PM EDT
Elop must be getting a huge compensation package from somewhere, because he will
need it to fund his involuntary retirement. Will any company on the planet hire
this clown once Nokia goes under? He's beginning to look like Darl -- both of
them apparently think everyone is a rube but themselves. I guess plenty of
people are willing to make themselves look like fools if you pay them enough.

My heart continues to ache for Nokia's poor employees. Where are the shareholder
lawsuits?

Nokia Broadens Apology Over Claims at Phone Launch

I'm not going to link to the WSJ article quoted in News Picks, as it doesn't provide much information and doesn't even give credit to the "independent bloggers".

Gizmodo has a better article which does give credit to this blog post on Pocketnow Is Nokia’s Marketing Misleading? where you can see how they figured out Nokia's deception: In the video in the Nokia promotional piece, which has text on the screen saying "OIS ON", i.e., the video is being made by a Lumia phone with its Optical Image Stabilization, as the model rides past a building, a window shows the reflection of the camera van with a big fancy professional camera that is actually taking the picture!
