his replacement dumps the consumer stuff

"Dumping the consumer stuff" would help MS. They should go back to
supporting their core business: corporate users. Their corporate lock-in won't
go away anytime soon. Will a Windows phone really help? Only if corporate
users want it. They should bite the bullet and make Windows work with Apple and
Android phones, and be done with it. MS is like the cat, suddenly confronted
with 20 mice, trying to chase them all, and ending up with none.

his replacement dumps the consumer stuff

I don't see the rise of the PC again.

I'm writing this on my Android tablet because reading
websites make more sense to me on a device in portrait mode.

At the moment I don't think the usability of tablets is
quite there. The office suit that came with this thing isn't
as capable as my laptop, but it will get there.

Humans are social creatures. Face to face meetings are
better than phone conversations, and way better than emails.

If office workers can get out from behind their desks and
still do their jobs they will work better, be happier and
more productive. Mobile devices will soon allow humans to
work more socially again, but be as productive as desk bound
computers have allowed in recent years.
