I think you're getting too involved in wordplay here.
"Statis", as defined, means things don't change - correct
"Statis", in the context that PJ is referring to, is the
statis of the legal profession trying to keep the status quo
where software patent laws are not really keeping up with
the reality that software patents are not good.
So, instead of getting into wordplay about "software
_dynamic_ changes, you need to look at the arguments put
forth by the various courts where the _stasis_ of "patents
are good for everybody", but is only benefiting a select few
and the patent landscape for the actual innovators (or the
little guys that actually innovate) is actually harming the
software industry.
