(A) extraneous prejudicial information was
improperly brought to
the jury’s attention;
ianal, but extraneous information seems to
refer to matter
such as newspaper articles, tv news, a juror's friend's
opinion, etc.
(B) an outside influence was improperly brought
to
bear on any juror;
ianal, but outside influence here seems to
imply the use of
a threat or bribe etc. to get a juror to vote a certain
way.
the implication from reading the notes to rule 606 seems to
be that
a jury's deliberation cannot be challenged except
for these 3 exceptions no
matter how cockeyed these
deliberation may have
been.
