I use this approach to handle a couple of my "must have" apps which
are Windows only, a CAD program and a PDF manipulator.

You still need a Windows license for the installation which sucks, but depending
on the set-up you can run the applications pretty well seamlessly within your
Linux installation.

I've tried Wine to accomplish the same several times, but it seems every time I
think things are going fine, it will prove unstable under pressure. Of course
this is likely caused by my lack of Wine tweaking skills.
