Forget Apple's Patent on Turning Phones Off
Authored by: Anonymous on Thursday, September 06 2012 @ 09:50 PM EDT
What if Apple had a patent on turning your phone ON?
That everything heard by the mic or seen by the camera
went to a great server in the sky where face and voice
recognition joined dots? Oh, love the helicopters halfway thru.

Apple patent on denying owners use of phones over Wireless -- Circle of Xix
Authored by: Anonymous on Friday, September 07 2012 @ 08:04 AM EDT
It seems that the next buzzword to get things past the USPTO is
"Wireless", instead of "Computer", as in Wirelessly do this
or that *OLD* thing, for example, wirelessly denying someone the usse of their
phone, just like any old computer virus, or the Apple Itunes store. Can I have
a patent on wireless remote storage? (j/k, that's supposed to be in the most
annoying little-kid tone you can think of)

However, as PJ's sexual assault "Circle of Siz" app demonstrates, you
need to not only own your phone but also to own and completely control the
software on it, with no back doors. Thus, my project for a fndamentally new OS,
built with the idea of the owner controlling everything.

Now, if I were to have a circle of six app on my phone, part two of the app is
te make a five-minute, minimum, video/audio from the phone and send it
immediately wherever the owner desired, including both local and remote storage.
That might make quite a dent in "everyday sexual assault" with groups
of guys doing casual drive-by gropes and such.

Not to mention that there have been a bunch of personnel encounters at work
creating a hostile atmosphere that need documenting.....nice weapon there, the
phone buzzes, you pull it out and silence it, forget to put it away...and it
records the whole thing..kinda too bad it's not in fashion to wear your phone on
your sleeve like horse three-day eventers with their medical cards.

Apple's patent for turning off phones
Authored by: Anonymous on Friday, September 07 2012 @ 08:42 AM EDT
I don't understand why everyone is bent out of shape over this because Apple patented it. After all, in the US, a patent gives you the right the exclude others from practicing the invention and does not necessarily give Apple the right (much less the duty) to practice the invention.

Besides, if it hadn't been patented, there would be two other alternatives: (1) it would have been kept secret, or (2) it would have been out in the open and everyone would be able to do it. And I can assure you that, in either of these two cases, somebody would be doing it. Right now.

... reap the whirlwind!

UPDATE: Chinese Phone Maker of the GooPhone i5 might have blocked iPhone 5 sales
in China!

Android fans, especially those of you who love your Samsung devices, might have
something to cheer about today as it looks like Chinese phone maker GooPhone
have already patented the design of the new iPhone 5 before Apple have had
chance!

If you’re not familiar with GooPhone then you might want to check out their
latest phone the GooPhone i5 which is an Android smartphone based on the design
of leaked iPhone 5 components which keep cropping up across China.

Like the iPhone 5 design, the GooPhone I5 is basically a much larger iPhone 4S
with a 4 inch screen, smaller dock connector and larger external speaker grills
along with a headphone rack on the bottom rather than on the top.

The most intriguing part of the GooPhone i5′s design is the fact that
GooPhone claim they have patented it in China, which could effectively block
Apple from selling their next generation iPhone in the Chinese market, and may
even mean GooPhone have the right to block iPhone 5 exports completely!

GooPhone i5 Specification

The GooPhone i5 is expected to launch a little after the genuine iPhone 5 later
this month and is said to feature an Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core 1.4Ghz CPU, 1GB
RAM, Android 4.0 ICS with an iOS 6 theme, 8 mega-pixel rear camera and a 4 inch
screen with an impressive retina display resolution of 1280 x 720.

More GooPhone i5 news coming soon!

So stay tuned. [In the distance: "Muahahahaha!]
