Oh wait.
You weren't talking about Windows 9?
Nevermind.

Uhmm, you are completely missing a vital feature. You need an extension to the
camera interface for image recognition. Otherwise how can you use ASL (sign
language) for boot option selection?
And have you considered how the screen capture subsystem will finishing printing
during boot? I suggest keeping that running in an additional virtual machine,
with a messaging system to inform both the bootloader and the final OS.

I have noticed that some device drivers require a lot of elapsed time on initial
load while they identify, configure, and test their devices. Most of the
elapsed time is spent waiting for the device to respond -- time that could be
better spent loading other drivers.
Obviously, to make the entire user boot experience faster and smoother, the
bloatloader must support multiple threads.

Sadly most people are unable to afford hardware that can handle basic
boot requirements in a timely way. We need to define a standard cloud
API so such tasks as voice recognition can be done expeditiously,
distinguishing a user's excited commands to boot MS Windows X from
the sobbing of folks who feel unworthy of the gratification bestowed by
such a modern OS.

Apparently, the boot loader will also need internet access so as to ask the FBI,
MAFIAA, etc... if you're allowed to even boot the machine in the first place.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
