Some companies install Oracle databases without much thinking, as part of some
application that works exclusively (or that claims to work
“best”) with Oracle.
Some companies even insist on
running these applications and their Oracle databases under
Windows—even though the application vendor recommends Linux, and
can demonstrate that Oracle licensing costs would be less under Linux... Go

One a lot of us ponder every time we hear of someone else willing to
"partner" with Microsoft.
A couple of the possibilities that makes any
sense is:
A: They don't know Microsoft (whether blinded by innocence,
denial, MS marketing, etc. doesn't really matter)
B: The visions of
sugar dollars dancing in their heads is blinding them to everything
else

The CEO's and primary share holders make off like bandits from bonuses and
retention payouts.
The regular share holder and the corporation as whole suffer. But they are not
considered important by the system.
