I'm not suggesting that Apple will have to formally disgorge any possible gain
from Samsung, only that what the right hand taketh, the left hand giveth away.

Interval and Apple are much less useful than pond scum

The freshwater algae that form pond scum are actually somewhat beneficial forms of life, releasing oxygen into the water during the daytime and providing food for several aquatic species. I do not think it is appropriate to liken patent trolls to pond scum algae. It greatly exaggerates their contribution to civilization.

Maybe ticks, body lice, head lice or some other parasite would be a better analogy.
