Just one nit - Nokia is not a competitor - they are owned by M$, and hence part
of the "club".

“Who cares (apart from Samsung) if Samsung can't sell a
single phone in the US.”
I've been wondering about
that... Judging by the reports about Samsung devices flying off the shelves
faster than ever, it seems to me that the public might possibly care a
little more than we tend to give them credit for.
Thus, perhaps the best,
maybe even the only, way to put this nonsense to rest, is to have Samsung quit
the American market (be it forcibly or voluntarily), and make sure that
Americans can choose only either “RottenApples” or
“MicroSnot” (apologies to those who find these terms
derogatory; I consider them pretty civilised and well-behaved, given the
circumstances). That way, at least the rest of the world can move on, and it
will be up to the American public to decide if they are happy being left behind. [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Assuming that Apple's UK appeal fails (which seems probable), would it then be
open to Samsung to sue in the UK for libel/slander? That could lead to a
ferocious penalty for Apple.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

..."What are you going to do when Samsung and LG refuse to sell even the
tiniest component to you?"...
They will sue Samsung and whine about their unfair business practices.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
