A spokesman for Apple revealed the details of Apple's latest court filings:
"The planet Earth is basically a rectangle with rounded corners. In fact
the corners are so rounded that you could almost say it was circular. It's also
a good deal fatter than our phones, in fact you could say it was more of a
sphere. Nevertheless, we believe it to be infringing our design patents, so we
are suing the planet Earth for willfull infringement."
Court cases against the sun, moon, several planets and number of other
astronomical bodies may follow.

What about the Sumerians,
Egyptians and Vikings? Think they should be able to just go along in the
history books, blatantly copying FruitCo's insanely great inventions without
ponying up? No sirree, once someone invents a time machine and Fruit happens to
be able to get a patent on something which they did not invent (again), they'll
be at Enki's throat, Gizeh will be razed and Hagbard can swim
home.

Douglas Adams writes of the Hitchhiker's Guide's entry on the geo-social nature
of the universe:
