You would be able to patent the idea but if you invent it you
could the mechanics.
I think it will go back to court and it'll be thrown out I
think there is enough prior art in all of Apples offerings to
stop this but as they say only in the US. Since this time it

Reading Heinlein's "Expanded Universe" (and before that
"Worlds of Robert A. Heinlein," which "Expanded Universe
incorporates), he talks about it. He didn't merely show it,
he actually discussed how a waterbed would have to operate to
give a bed with the feeling of laying in a warm pool (the
pool in Panama he used to relax in while on the Navy Pistol
Team). Remember RAH was an engineer in his own right.
