Samsung Files Motion to Stay Judgment & Why This Case Matters ~pj

The problem is you're an AC. The A means we don't have a clue who you are. And
the C? Well, if you can't even use a nym then surely you have a right to be
paranoid ...

If you don't want to be called a troll, then you have to stand up and be
counted. We don't care who you are in real life, but if you want us to take you
seriously, you need an online identity, and AC just doesn't cut it.

Cheers,
Wol

Hallmarks of a troll
Authored by: cjk fossman on Wednesday, August 29 2012 @ 09:11 AM EDT

My Trollometer measures these parameters:

  • Disagreeableness rather than disagreement
  • Rudeness and demeaning language
  • Gotcha! attitude
  • Long on emotions, short on facts
  • Lengthy exchanges that stray far from the original point; point seems to change depending on the immediate context
  • The "I used to love Groklaw, but now..." theme.
  • Or its cousin, "You're slipping, PJ"
  • Near duplicate posts
  • Buzzwords such as 'slavishly copying' and 'stolen ideas.'
  • Word count. Most of the time most of the commenters can make their point in two or three paragraphs. But there are exceptions and this is just one of several parameters.

So how do you measure up?
