Engineers from General Motors Co. took apart Hyundai Motor Co.'s Elantra sedan
in 2009, studying the engine and trying to predict what the Korean auto maker
might do next. When the latest Elantra launched this year, GM engineers were
surprised: The compact sedan beat their predictions for weight, fuel economy
and cost as well.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

There is difference in taking inspiration and coming up with better things.
Check webos for example. Even Apple does that (btw they are no saints). But
what Samsung did here is not taking inspiration. It is taking almost
everything you competitor did and tweaking it a little here and there.
Let me give you an analogy: In a class exam, someone takes the answer
sheet of the topper who has got 90℅ correct answers, copies them and
gets
a few of his own correct answers in the remaining 10% and submits his
answer sheet. Can you call this competition?
P.S.
Apple: Think different
Samsung: Think 'slightly' different[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
