Samsung Files Motion to Stay Judgment & Why This Case Matters ~pj
Authored by: Anonymous on Wednesday, August 29 2012 @ 02:09 AM EDT
Well, OK, here goes nothing.
-I have never made an account.
-I believe in my privacy
-I believe in anonymous communication on the 'net.
-I almost never comment anyplace.
<snark>If you don't want anonymous comments, don't allow
them.</snark> (seriously!)

-The reasons Groklaw has gone to a bad place include:
-The complete disregard for the idea that there might not be a "bad
guy" here. The patent system may
stink but the players play with the rules they are given (and they all play -
don't fool yourself into
thinking some don't - pay more attention).
-Many (most really) comments bashing Apple in general and making poorly informed
comments about
how they never innovate, etc. For a site that tried so hard to educate people
about the history of UNIX
the drivel thrown around here is appalling.
-Clearly it is not about a reasoned discourse, it is just rabid attack on
anything that might not jive with
FOSS.
-The idea that you think Google is "better" than Apple because they
promote Android. None of them
are necessarily "better". There are different models and they can all
have good and bad parts. IN fact,
all do. Choose your poison. Perhaps neither is as perfect or as flawed as it is
portrayed here.

I can just as easily spew trash about Google and Android but it is way to simple
(and no, I don't see
much better in the discourse here. [I bow to our new privacy destroying
overlords (foolishly following
Facebook into selling our information as a basis for business)].

I won't be back. Groklaw has outlived its purpose and clearly has no rudder. It
may be that SCO unified
a group in outrage and purpose that might never have otherwise come together,
and so a moment in
time has passed. I value the education Gorklaw gave me in federal procedure. I
appreciate the great
effort and tremendous work put forth by all involved to post the legal documents
for all to see. The in-
court reports were great. Thank you if you contributed in the SCO days.

After holding above the cesspool of the internet, it is sad to see Groklaw go
into the gutter.

Goodbye.
