PJ, your bias is pushing me away
Authored by: Anonymous on Tuesday, August 28 2012 @ 11:14 PM EDT
Y used to read Groklaw since I found it (wow, what a deep truth!!), now I dont
use to read it, I use to read it several times a day and tell people "read
it if they want to know the truth". Because of Groklaw I developed a
growing interest on IP, and even took an online course at WIPO, and thanks to
groklaw I was able to understand better some concepts and analyze them with
care

And regarding some concepts being discussed, I use to use an Apple II computer
and some years ago a personal computer, and that is all, so I have never seen
that bounce feature all people is talking about, but just to be clear, if I
slide something inside a box, it bounces or stretches when reaching an end, and
now let us talk a little bit about ergonomics.

If something has an ergonomic design, I expect it to behave "nicely",
so my senses get a good interaction experience. Any of you had used those
wobbling windows in Linux? What about the desktop cube? Well, for mi is not
visual candy, is just ergonomics. How artificial feels a window "made of
hard material". In the real world if I take something it stretches or
bends, then your body behaves in concordance. When I move a rubber window in my
linux desktop my body reacts as expected, but with windows like the M$ ones, not
only you can't drag them from any point (like in the real world) but it feels
uncomfortable!!!

For me it was a very good idea to have these nice effects, but they made me feel
a lot better working on my linux desktop. In fact I wold like my android tablet
to have a desktop cube, and when something reach an end, it can get deformed,
not bounced, and all of this is just how nature behaves! So there is nothing new
under the sun, hope those trolls and shills read this post, maybe they would run
to apple and say "hey, hey, those linux guys have a nice desktop, get
dressed with it and then sue them so the only ones who can claim be able to have
nice things would be ours".

Rectangular shape?? Have you ever heard about gold number?

Square icons?? then sue M$ because their desktop is designed to be cluttered
with icons in rows and columns, but even software made for very old computers
have similar arrangements for the GUI.

And finally, for those patent trolls, trolls and shills, what a shame they can't
afford their minds to have a better job.

And thanks PJ for this site, I am sure it change the life of a lot of people,
encouraging some to learn more, showing the truth to others, and you didn't
started this site because of FOSS or linux or whatever, you started it because
you like it, and then a lot of us too.

SALUDOS
ALVARO
