Forgot to mention, Lotus Notes, which I was also using at IBM back then,
supported clicking on URLs too. So, in the late '90s, I was using 3 different
apps that supported clicking on a URL to open a browser. IIRC, the Lotus
Sametime chat app supported it too. Sametime is in some ways similar to texting
on a phone.

I had forgotten all about Profs. My company made me use it (could it have been
on Wyse terminals?) together with IBM's word processor.
My abiding memory is of a complete failure on my part to remember how to start a
new paragraph in the word processor.
Clickable links? Forget it! Just give me an Enter key that inserts new
paragraphs. Actually, the links would be 'Enterable' after using the cursor keys
to move to the link. The mainframe did not speak 'mouse'.
Thank heavens WordStar did not patent that innovative 'Enter'-new-paragraphs
feature. Don't forget, although it is identical to the typewriter carriage
return lever function it is a new innovation because it is on-a-computer,
