I've been wanting to upgrade my original iPad for awhile because iOS 5 is
sluggish on the old hardware. The result of this trial cements it for me, I am
going to go with an Android device, and I'm really excited the 10.1 will be
available again (I hope).[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Is that Samsung has a proprietary power charging connector (instead of using
micro or mini USB). I was at a "major" electronics retail store
talking to one of the managers the other day (I visit to look over products and
got to know the staff quite well), and was told for the Samsung devices with
that power connector (does other stuff), that many people lose them and come in
looking for one that is not sold in their store (they sell the Samsung devices,
but not an spare charger cable etc).
So, I avoid Samsung because of this problem. I have at least a dozen USB power
chargers that I have from different devices, so it is easy to have one at work,
in car, at home, in travel bag, etc... Samsung's charger connector, simply does
not make sense from a user's perspective.
I bought the Google Nexus 7, but took that back for a refund due to no HDMI
connector, no USB cable in box to connect to my USB flash devices, and no
ability to transfer files back and forth between my Linux boxes and the device.
I would really like something like it, with HDMI, SD slot, that I could dual
boot with Lubuntu, and Android, with both fully encrypted (the whole device
encrypted), to run all my local apps with Lubuntu that I must have, and yet be
able to play with the Android world too... but, don't really like to be sucked
into Google's cloud for everything world.
