When 90% of all patents are bogus, then 90% of all patent holders can be
expected to have an inflated sense of their own capability, and this can easily
be psychologically projected onto others who also own patents.

(I happen to have my name on around 16 mostly bogus patents, stockpiled by a
large tech company back in the days before patent trolls.)
