My problem with those companies is the failure to seize the market in a timely
manner. M$ is understandable as they are just too big/bloated and without
direction. Possibly a similar situation with the others. There is a certain size
that is required nowadays to compete on a global scale. Samsung has it.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Those two particular examples are post iphone, and I think RIM and Palm have
cross-licensing agreements.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

I can see the rectangle in the iPhone but I do not see it in the two examples
you linked to.
Rectangle. "an equiangular parallelogram": "a parallelogram with
at least one right angle"
Parallelogram. "One pair of opposite sides are parallel and equal in
length."
While the RIM phone does at least contain two parallel sides, the opposing top
and bottom appear to be convex. So a parallelogram but not a rectangle.
The Palm Pre appears to lack any "parallel" sides and is what would be
recognized in the pharmaceutical industry as a "tablet" shape. Maybe
Appleshold properly patent the "round cornered slab"[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
