If you are sick would you let a jury decide what ails you and how it should be
treated?
The knowledge of the common man is often overrated.
The examples you use are not relevant.
Do decide if a case of medical treatment was malpractice or not is malpractice
or not what the normal treatment according to science and proven experience
should be.
A common man wont know. A lawyer can't tell you. Only a well-versed medical
practitioner can.
Common man is just what it says common not God.
I would take my chances with the dice before relying on a jury.
By luck I am not from a common law country. We have lay influences in the court
besides the judge but no jury.
