Because if they had not raised the inconsistencies they
would have lost
their right to appeal on those
inconsistencies.
This is the no gotcha
rule, so to speak.

Easy. 91 pages of instructions
It takes at least a couple of hours to just skim the thing once.
To actually read, cross reference with the evidence, and create an answer for
the form would take about an hour per entry.

I think they could have made a good guess that the inconsistencies would be
there, based simply on how fast the verdict form came back. It's quite hard to
