Ok, great. I'm doubtful that they carefully followed/deliberated based on the
instructions but the quote is not a smoking gun to that effect (for the case as
a whole).

I hate to disagree with you but with 109 pages of instructions that would take a
team of very good lawyers a week to understand much less follow the problem was
not with the jury inability to follow instructions but with a judge ability to
give instructions and inability to manage a case.

It should not take more time to understand the jury instruction than it would
take to get a law degree.

The judge was asking the impossible because of the judge's inability to conduct
a reasonable trial.
