Motorola Mobility v Apple
Authored by: Tkilgore on Thursday, August 23 2012 @ 04:23 PM EDT
> The Motorola Mobility v Apple was filed on 18 August.

True enough. It was recent.

> We are in the very early days. Unless Apple decides to fold, and simply pay
damages, without a fight, I wouldn't expect anything before the end of the
year.

I was referring to the complete lack of interest in this by "the
press." If the "anything" which you wouldn't expect is actual
movement in the case, perhaps you are right, given the speed of the legal
system. But if what is not expected is any public mention, then it is precisely
the lack of public mention which I have found strange. But for the coverage
here, at Groklaw, I would not even be aware that any complaint had been filed.
To continue along the same lines, what might the press have to say about it,
then, if were to come true that "Apple decides to fold, and simply pay
damages, without a fight"? Is one to expect that nothing at all gets
reported in public even then?

> Going by everybody's favorite oracle, the early indications are that
Motorola has a win. (Granted, that isn't what he said, but given his track
record, that is the most probable outcome.)

Out of curiosity, who is the "he" to whom are you referring as
"everybody's favorite oracle"? I have no idea.
